Privacy, in plain words
This is my privacy page. I wrote it like a letter because legal templates make my eyes glaze over, and yours probably do too.
Hi. I'm Alicia. I built this site to share photography notes about the Toronto tower. Here's what happens with your information when you visit.
No accounts
There are no accounts on this site. No login, no signup, no registration. You read, you leave. That's the whole interaction.
No cookies I set
I don't place any cookies on your device. No tracking cookies, no preference cookies, no "we use cookies to enhance your experience" nonsense. Your browser may store its own cache files — that's between you and your browser.
No analytics
There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no tracking script of any kind on this site. I don't know how many people visit, where they come from, or what pages they read. I genuinely do not track you. The server logs exist (every web server has them), and they record standard access information: your IP address, the page you requested, the time. I don't look at them unless something breaks.
Emails stay private
If you email me through the address on the contact page, I read your message and reply. I don't add you to any list, I don't share your address with anyone, and I don't send follow-up marketing. Your email is a conversation between us and stays that way.
Why you might have seen this site advertised
This site sometimes appears in online advertisements. That might seem odd for a personal photography notebook, and I understand the question. The ads exist to bring visitors to a free resource — these field notes, weather advice, and photography guides. Nothing is for sale here. There is no shopping cart, no checkout, no payment system. Tickets to the tower are only ever sold by the tower itself, through their own official channels. The ads point to this site because I think the content is useful, not because I'm trying to sell you something.
Third-party links
Some pages link to external sites — the tower's official homepage, weather services, other photography references. Those sites have their own privacy policies. I have no control over what they do with your data once you leave my pages.
Changes
If I ever change anything about how this site works in a way that affects your privacy, I'll update this page. Since there's nothing to track and nothing to sell, I don't expect much will change.
If you have questions about any of this, email me. I'll answer in plain words, same as this page.
